One colour of rose says one thing. Several say something considerably more relaxed. A mixed-colour rose bouquet drops the formality a single-tone dozen carries, which makes it usable for people a red bouquet would embarrass — a friend, a colleague, a sister, a birthday where romance is not the message. Spray roses and lisianthus through the mix add smaller clustered heads between the full roses, so it reads fuller than a same-priced single-colour bouquet. It is also the easiest thing to buy for someone whose taste you do not know well: mixed colour offends nobody and looks generous to everyone. - Trim the stems at an angle to help them absorb water.
- Place them in clean, fresh water right away.
- Remove any leaves below the waterline to keep the water clean.
- Change the water every 2 days and re-cut the stems.
- Keep the flowers in a cool spot, away from sunlight and heat.
