That is the whole proposition here: what looks like a quiet green and white arrangement on arrival becomes a large, strongly scented one by midweek as the trumpets open in sequence. For a recovery or a long stay that staggering is the point — the gift keeps arriving. Yellow through the white keeps it warm rather than solemn. One note: lilies are not safe around cats. 1. Trim the stems at an angle to help them absorb water.
2. Place them in clean, fresh water right away.
3. Remove any leaves below the waterline to keep the water clean.
4. Change the water every 2 days and re-cut the stems.
5. Keep the flowers in a cool spot, away from sunlight and heat.
