Making Blue Roses Last
Expect five to ten days, the same as any fresh rose. Re-cut every stem 2–3 cm at an angle on arrival, strip any leaf that would sit below the waterline, and change the water every two to three days.
One thing specific to this colour: use clean, clear water and change it promptly. Deeply coloured roses can tint cloudy water slightly as they age, and it shows more in a clear vase than it would with a pale bloom. Keep the arrangement out of direct sun through glass — strong light pulls the blue toward grey — and well clear of air-conditioning vents, which in Dubai do more damage to cut flowers than heat does.
