The two colours also do something practical: white opens up the density of red and stops a dozen roses reading as a solid block, so the bouquet looks larger and lighter than an all-red dozen at the same count. Ours are hand-tied in a spiral with the colours alternated rather than grouped, so it stays balanced from every side. 1. Trim the stems at an angle to help them absorb water.
2. Place them in clean, fresh water right away.
3. Remove any leaves below the waterline to keep the water clean.
4. Change the water every 2 days and re-cut the stems.
5. Keep the flowers in a cool spot, away from sunlight and heat.
